The intention of the programmes is to support and recognise professional development in conjunction with your role, and where appropriate the competency requirements for your professional group e.g. Annual Practicing Certificates.

We have two hospitals located in two fantastic areas of New Zealand - Rotorua and Taupo.

We recognise achievement


Long service

Twice a year we hold presentation where our long serving staff are recognised for their length of service.  Staff are recognised for 20, 30 and 40 years’ service to the organisation and each recipient receives a gift, badge and certificate.  The photos of long-serving staff are published in our organisational newsletters


Quality Stars
We believe that individuals / teams who have contributed to the improved quality of service at Lakes DHB by active involvement in continuous quality improvement processes, undertaking notable consumer focussed activities, involving consumers in decision-making processes need to be recognised! The quality team have developed a ‘quality star’ rewards/recognitions programme and nominees will be rewarded with a ‘quality star’ gift.
