The Provider Arm of Lakes District Health Board provides secondary hospital and community based health care services to the people of the region. With hospitals at Taupo and Rotorua Lakes DHB provides a wide range of secondary and support services. Lakes District Health Board has a total of 117 beds across both Taupo and Rotorua Hospital Sites.
Governance is provided by the Hospital Advisory Committee (HAC), a statutory committee of the Board. This committee has developed a work plan that centres on:

Monitoring the financial and operational performance of Rotorua and Taupo Hospitals

Assessing strategic issues relating to the provision of hospital services by or through the Lakes District Health Board.

Advising the Lakes District Health Board and making recommendations on the assessment of strategic issues and the monitoring of performance.

Monitoring at a strategic and policy level, Treaty of Waitangi relationship issues for hospital operations.
Dale Oliff - General Manager Clinical Services - Dale heads the Senior Management team for Hospital and Specialist Secondary Services of Lakes DHB team. Dale has held senior nursing and operational management roles since completing her RN training in mid 1970s. Director of Nursing - Counties Manukau for four years, Director of Nursing and Midwifery - Southland DHB for three years. She also worked for some years as a Public Health Nurse.
Dale is accountable for planning, guiding and leading the Clinical Services within Rotorua and Taupo Hospitals, aligning with the strategic and operational direction of the Lakes DHB. Leads with the vision and passion, guidance and support to staff within the hospitals and Community Health Services, maintaining an effective organisation and systems to meet the services required. Management overview ofthe day-to-day clinical operaitons and commercial / business systems of the hospitals to ensure quality services are provided in an efficient and effective manner.

Rosemary Viskovic - Project Manager - Rosemary manages a range of specific projects. Currently projects include Clinical Pathways, Taupo Hospital Medical Model, General Medicine Model, Organised stroke services. Rosemary has held a range of roles at Lakes DHB since 1994 including Staff Nurse, Cardiac Nurse Specialist, MeNZB project manager, Personal health portfolio manager, Child and adolescent oral health project manager. Greg Vandergoot - Service Manager for Surgery and Elective Services. Greg trained at Rotorua hospital as a Registered Nurse in the early 1980’s. Spent a couple of years working in the surgical and medical wards then went to Australia. Returning to Middlemore in 1986. Moved back to Rotorua in 1987 and has been here ever since. Greg has held a number of positions since then with a focus on developing his management skills. Greg has held the position of Service Manager Surgical & Elective Services for five years in October 2012.

MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES
Maureen Emery - Service Manager for Mental Health Services. Maureen completed her original training as a Psychiatric Nurse in Tokanui Hospital in the early 1980’s, where she continued to work for approximately the next 15 years. Maureen was discharged into the community in the early-mid 1990’s before going to Australia (Sydney and Outback NSW) in 1998, returning to NZ in 2000. She has moved between clinical and management roles to retain my nursing skills and support ongoing study, in Waikato, Bay of Plenty and currently at Lakes DHB’s as the Service Manager: Mental Health. Maureen has held this position for the last four years.

AMBULATORY SERVICES
Roger Lysaght is the Service Manager of Ambulatory. Roger commenced his role as Service Manager for Ambulatory in December 2009. Roger spent 10 years in Australia where he trained to be a sonographer on his return to New Zealand he worked as Radiology Department Manager for Wanganui DHB. From this role he worked as Manager for Fulford Radiology in Taranaki and following that was two years in Wellington at Capital Coast DHB as Manager for Radiology Services. Roger began at Lakes District Health Board in 2005 when he was employed as the Manager of the Radiology Department.
