NEW Entry

to Rotorua Hospital 

& Emergency Department

Entry to Rotorua Hospital is now via the new hospital entrance, off Pukeroa Street.

The new entrance has a covered entranceway, allowing patients to be dropped off under cover.

Rotorua Hospital Parking

With the changeover to the new ED and hospital entrance, the main public parking is now in the large carpark by the Renal Unit. Please follow the signs for parking.

There is disability parking at the new entrance, along with parking for mobility scooters.

All ED patients, Outpatients and Hospital Visitors Now Enter Rotorua Hospital through the new MAIN ENTRANCE, off Pukeroa Street. 

Most outpatient services at Rotorua Hospital are now located in the Ambulatory Centre on the ground floor of the hospital building Whakaue Rauoranga.

If you have trouble finding your way, ask a staff member for help. 

If you need help to areas of the hospital, talk to the staff at the main entrance and they can arrange a wheelchair.

Redevelopment of Taupo Hospital

Lakes District Health Board  has selected Fletcher Construction Company Ltd for the Taupo Hospital redevelopment.

Fletcher set up onsite late in October 2012.  
The redevelopment will see the Taupo ED double in size, from six to 12 cubicles, plus the inclusion of the Maternity Unit into the main hospital building, co-located with the ED.

Other features will include:

• New Radiology unit alongside ED with space provided for future modalities

• All the Inpatient unit bedrooms have ensuites.

• Outpatients area is being redeveloped and brought up to date.

Additionally, work to lift the seismic performance of the hospital building to the required levels, will see the full redevelopment of the inpatient ward area.
