Breastfeeding Education

The birth process can overwhelm a womens thoughts, however it is recommended that you take sometime to consider breastfeeding and learn some general information, find out about what support is available, and gain some understanding that most problems can be overcome. Your LMC will provide information about breastfeeding, and when you attend atenatal claases you will also learn about breastfeeding. Once your baby is born your wellchild provider supports you with breastfeeding.

La Leche League is a voluntary organisation run by skilled group leaders who provide information and support on breastfeeding. It is free to attend meetings. Phone suport is also available, and they offer a large range of information resources.
