Friday 20 April 2018 Mangakino Community Health Forum

A Mangakino Community Health Forum is being held this Friday 20 April, at the St John Ambulance Hall, Commerce St, in Mangakino.

Lakes District Health Board Chair Deryck Shaw says most Board members will be there and are keen to hear from Mangakino and Whakamaru people about any health issues, and to find out the questions people in the rural communities want answered.

He says DHB staff representing the different areas of service provision will be there on the morning, along with key providers in district.

A health expo day was held five years ago, where information was exchanged about the services provided in the Mangakino area, and the 20 April forum offers the chance for the Board to hear from Mangakino residents.

Deryck Shaw says the Board sees the Mangakino Community Health Forum as being a valuable opportunity to feel the ‘health pulse’ of locals in the district. He says the Taupo District Community Health Forum chaired by Taupo Board member Christine Rankin is a group that keeps the Board and DHB in touch with local health issues and trends.

The forum will be start at 10.00am and run until 11.45am. Most Board members will be there, along with key DHB staff and health provider representatives who have been asked to be present.

In the lead up to the day, health and social service providers offering services in Mangakino have been asked for their updated contact details for a directory of services. Any providers who have not been contacted, please contact:
