Child Protection

Lakes DHB believes everyone should have the opportunity to thrive in healthy and safe communities, and to be living free from violence, abuse and neglect.

Lakes DHB, recognises the impact family violence has on the health and well-being of individuals and whānau.

As a legislated family violence, child welfare and protection agency, health professionals at Lakes DHB have a duty of care to respond to those experiencing family violence.

Lakes District Health Board is committed to the well-being of tamariki and rangatahi in line with these responsibilities.

Should you have concerns for the well-being and safety of a tamaiti or rangatahi with regards to possible abuse or neglect, further advice is available from Oranga Tamariki - Ministry for Children on 0508 326 459 (0508 FAMILY).
