PlunketLine is a free helpline and advice service. It is available for all families, whānau and caregivers, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Anyone in Aotearoa can use PlunketLine, you do not have to be registered with Plunket.
PlunketLine staffing
PlunketLine is staffed by registered Plunket nurses, who have a postgraduate qualification in Well Child/Tamariki Ora. Our Plunket nurses are there to help with any issues including:
- behaviour management
- toilet training
- parenting issues
- your baby crying or not sleeping well
- your child’s growth, development or behaviour
- immunisation
- breastfeeding
- food – nutrition
- teeth and tooth brushing
- safety
- the Well Child/Tamariki Ora programme.

Facebook chat
PlunketLine hosts a live Facebook chat once a month. These happen on the first Tuesday of the month. Each month covers a different topic. This is a chance for parents and caregivers to ask questions of the month's topics.
Bilingual service
PlunketLine works closely with Language Line to make sure there are translators available if needed.
They also have Chinese (Mandarin and Cantonese), Māori and Samoan nurses available to help you in your first language.
