NZNO nurses’ strikes planned for 2 and 4 September 2025
Nurses at Health NZ public hospitals and health services plan to strike from 7am to 11pm on both Tuesday 2 September and Thursday 4 September. Emergency departments will be open for emergencies only.
GPs, after-hours and urgent care clinics, and other community health providers are not affected by the strikes and will continue to operate as normal.
The rheumatology service for Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora Hawke’s Bay provides a review of conditions involving the joints, muscles and bones. We can arrange for your appointment to be in Hastings or Napier.
A rheumatologist is a specialist doctor who can discuss with you the possible diagnosis for problems affecting your joints, muscles and bones. They can also recommend further tests or treatments.
After your appointment, the rheumatologist will contact your healthcare provider with details about:
your diagnosis
any test results
a plan for your care.
You may have follow up appointments with the rheumatology service before you see any other services for help with your condition or are discharged back to the care of your healthcare provider.
