The Needs Assessment Service assesses the needs of people who struggle with daily activities because of age, a health condition or disability. The goal of the needs assessment is to help people maximise their independence.
NASC agencies organise help to stay at home, support services for carers and entry into residential care.

Meals on Wheels is a support service that prepares and delivers a subsidised hot midday meal.
You usually need to be referred to the service by a healthcare provider.

Lakes Transport Services is available for Health New Zealand patients needing transport to attend out-of-town health-related appointments.
The service is available in Rotorua, Taupō and Tūrangi for people who meet the criteria for National Travel Assistance.
Hato Hone St John Health Shuttle is a volunteer driver service for patients attending doctor visits, dental appointments, specialist appointments, hospital day-stays for minor surgery and any other health appointments.
When your appointment is over, the shuttle can be contacted to transport you home again.
This service needs to be booked at least 24 hours in advance.
