NZNO nurses’ strikes planned for 2 and 4 September 2025
Nurses at Health NZ public hospitals and health services plan to strike from 7am to 11pm on both Tuesday 2 September and Thursday 4 September. Emergency departments will be open for emergencies only.
GPs, after-hours and urgent care clinics, and other community health providers are not affected by the strikes and will continue to operate as normal.
We provide a motivating and supportive environment for you to explore your smoking addiction and to make permanent changes. Up to date information on ways to quit and medications that are proven to help.
How it works
We help you explore the reasons you smoke and support you in making positive lifestyle changes to become smokefree for life. Nicotine Replacement Therapy (NRT) and other medications may help you through the withdrawals, making it easier to quit. This combined approach has been proven to be more effective to those ready to make this important change in their lives.
The Coast Quit programme is offered by all the medical centres and health clinics on the West Coast and the community pharmacies in Hokitika and Greymouth.
The programme provides medication and support to quit smoking, for 6 to 8 weekly or fortnightly sessions. There is a small co-payment charge per session.
Contact your healthcare provider of the community pharmacies for more information.
