He toka tū moana! E te rangatira Rob, haere ki Paerau ki te huinga o te Kahurangi. Haere, haere atu rā.

It is with deep sadness that we acknowledge the passing of Lakes District Health Board member Rob Vigor-Brown.

Rob was a passionate advocate for improving the health of our communities and his contribution and expertise will be sorely missed, having served on the board for 15 years.

He was a champion for vulnerable whānau, especially those who experienced mental health and addiction issues but also for those less fortunate in our communities.

His commitment, compassion and empathy was always at the forefront of whatever Rob was involved in.

Rob dedicated a lifetime of serving the communities he was elected to represent.

He was Chair of the Disability Support Advisory Committee, a member of the Finance and Audit Committee and the Taupō District Health Forum.

He was also a member of the Midland Trauma Research Group and the Perioperative Mortality Review Committee for NZ.

He will be remembered for his tireless commitment to be a voice of responsibility, accountability and advocacy for all those in the Lakes DHB rohe.

Our thoughts and condolences are with his whānau and loved ones at this time.
