Visitors asked to reconsider visiting

Visitors encouraged to reconsider their need to visit.

Due to the high number of Covid-19 patients in both Rotorua and Taupō hospitals visitors are being strongly encouraged to reconsider their need to visit.

All visitors must wear a mask at all times. Visitors may also be required to wear additional PPE.

Te Whatu Ora Lakes prefers one visitor to each patient at a time and as such children  cannot be accommodated as visitors.

This does not affect support people.

These measures are to keep staff and vulnerable patients safe.

Today there are 24 Covid-19 positive inpatients with 18 in Rotorua Hospital and six in Taupō Hospital. This is our highest inpatient number to date.

Te Whatu Ora Lakes thanks the public for its support during this time.
