ASMS senior doctors’ 48-hour strike planned for 23 and 24 September 2025
Senior doctors and dentists at Health NZ public hospitals and health services plan to strike for 48 hours on Tuesday 23 September and Wednesday 24 September.
Emergency departments will be open for emergencies only.
GPs, after-hours and urgent care clinics, and other community health providers are not affected by the strikes and will continue to operate as normal.
Gynaecology services for Health New Zealand | Te Toka Tumai Auckland offers comprehensive care, including general and specialty clinics, day surgery and inpatient services. Key areas include gynaecology oncology, urogynaecology, fertility and early pregnancy assessment. Services are provided at Greenlane Clinical Centre.
To get an appointment for any of these services you need to be referred by your healthcare provider. You cannot self-refer. If you need an interpreter, ask your healthcare provider to request one when they send their referral.

The women's assessment unit provides urgent care for pregnancy or gynaecology complications and is open 24 hours 7 days a week. You need to be referred to the unit by your midwife, doctor or healthcare provider.
Our service provides world class comprehensive treatment and care for women with all forms of gynaecological cancer, including:
cervical cancer
vulval cancer
ovarian cancer
uterine cancer.
We work closely with the regional cancer and blood service at Auckland City Hospital (chemotherapy and radiation therapy services) to deliver the best possible outcomes for women and their whānau.

You can access our services if you live in the Auckland region as well as the Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora regions for Counties Manukau, Waitematā and Northland, and if you live in Gisborne, Waikato and the Bay of Plenty.
You need to be referred to us by your healthcare provider.
Colposcopy examination is usually needed when your cervical smear test results need further checking. A special magnifying instrument (colposcope) is used to take a closer look at your vagina and cervix.
The vulva clinic provides care for women from Auckland and other parts of New Zealand with conditions of the vagina and vulval area. You are welcome to bring a support person with you when you visit the clinic.
