You can access the department through the main hospital entrance. Follow the yellow line down to the lower ground floor until you reach the radiation oncology department.
Services we provide
The centre has 4 treatment machines, known as linear accelerators or linacs. It also has a CT scanner and a high dose rate brachytherapy machine for internal radiation treatment.
We provide paediatric radiation for children across the South Island. We work alongside the children's haematology and oncology centre.

Support
You can bring whānau or support people to any of your appointments. It can help to have someone else hear the information or to write down notes. For safety, your support person will be asked to leave while you receive the radiation treatment.
