Acute Pain Service

The Anaesthetic Department operates a specialist lead, nurse co-ordinated acute pain service, throughout the hospital. 

The aims of the service are:

• Education
• Protocol and Guideline development
• Management of complex acute pain cases

 

Criteria for acceptance of referrals:

• Post operative patients 
• Trauma
• Patients with complex acute pain

 

This is a referral-only service.
