Dermatology is the medicine concerned with diagnosing and treating diseases of the skin, hair and nails.
Te Whatu Ora Lakes has an outpatient dermatology service at Rotorua Hospital and Taupō Hospital, for the assessment, education and treatment of dermatological conditions, particularly those that are of a chronic nature.
A referral from a GP or other primary care practitioner is required for this service.
